Queenstown Team Update – Lindsay Muir
LINDSAY MUIR
Lindsay recently transitioned from Mechanical Engineering to Structural Engineering, joining the New Zealand building industry. With a Master’s in Mechanical Engineering specializing in thermodynamics, Lindsay has extensive expertise in heat and mass transfer, which he applied in the commercial refrigeration sector, developing custom blast freezers and lyophilization technologies. Previously, he worked as a structural engineer with Air New Zealand and Airbus, focusing on airframe design and modifications for both military and non-military aircraft. Now leading the engineering team at Sullivan Hall’s Queenstown branch, Lindsay is refocusing his structural skills on civil projects, contributing to the industry through thermal modelling and helping architects, builders, and clients optimize home comfort and efficiency under the new H1 clause of the NZ Building Code. Outside of work, Lindsay is a sporting enthusiast, currently training for the Coast to Coast Longest Day. He enjoys playing team sports and playing his guitar (in the pub scene!).
