Junior to Intermediate Structural Revit Technician

We are seeking a Revit Structure CAD technician to join any of our teams in Auckland, Tauranga, or Queenstown. The ideal candidate we are looking for would have an experience level between 2 to 4 years of Revit Structure drawing experience in New Zealand working across bespoke residential and/or commercial projects. The successful candidate will have a willingness to learn. We value such individuals because they are open to new skills and techniques. Our experienced team are ready and committed to providing you with the support needed to grow professionally.

What you’ll de doing:

  • Producing detailed and accurate structural documentation using Revit and AutoCAD for bespoke residential developments.
  • Collaborating closely with engineers, architects, and other technicians across offices.
  • Ensuring drawings meet industry standards and client expectations.
  • Contributing meaningfully to the design process in a team-driven, solutions-focused environment.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has solid experience with Autodesk Revit & Autocad.
  • Demonstrates proficiency with structural modelling and detailing.
  • Comes from a New Zealand consulting background, familiar with local construction practices and how structures come together.
  • Takes pride in the presentation of your work and consistently delivers with care and precision.
  • Brings a strong team ethic and collaborative approach.
  • Enjoys engaging with colleagues to mature a project and achieve the best outcome for clients.
  • Possesses excellent time management, communication, and organisational skills.

Intermediate/Senior Structural Engineer – Tauranga

What You’ll Do (Your Responsibilities)

  • Lead the structural design of new residential and commercial structures, ensuring compliance with all NZ standards and the building code.
  • Manage and conduct site investigations and construction monitoring (up to CM3).
  • Take full ownership of your projects, coordinating directly with clients, architects, and the wider project team to build and strengthen relationships.
  • Act as a key representative for Sullivan Hall, embodying our company values to help grow our client base and project portfolio.
  • Collaborate with our in-house engineers and BIM technicians to produce clear, high-quality, and easy-to-read documentation.
  • Ensure that all work is completed in accordance with health & safety and legal requirements.

 

Who We’re Looking For (The Ideal Candidate)

You are an engineer who gets genuine satisfaction from solving the hard problems. You have:

  • A strong understanding of New Zealand design codes, standards, and legislation (especially seismic design).
  • 4+ years of experience in the structural engineering sector in New Zealand.
  • Proven experience with architecturally sensitive design, incorporating timber, steel, and concrete construction.
  • The ability to think laterally and a complimentary understanding of all relevant parts of the NZBC (C, E2, F4, H1, etc.).
  • A positive attitude and a desire to constantly extend your engineering knowledge.
  • Strong pride and responsibility in your work, with a drive to go above and beyond client expectations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to liaise directly with clients.
  • Self-awareness of your competencies and a willingness to engage with colleagues to seek help and ask questions.
  • Most importantly, you don’t take yourself too seriously. You’re willing to laugh along with others and add to a light-hearted, collaborative office environment.

 

The Essentials (Qualifications)

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • A valid NZ driver’s license.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, and various structural analysis software (e.g., SpaceGass, ETABS, Robot).
