WANAKA CRIB

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

An award-winning residence with a modern take on a Kiwi bach

Design by PAC Studio and constructed by Dunlop Builders, this award-winning residence is a modern take on the much-loved Kiwi Bach of yonder years. The three pavilions formed from two gables and a chisel roof surround three defined court yards, integrating softly with the natural surroundings near Wanaka’s lake edge.

The structure is braced by adopting centrically braced frames to facilitate the large joinery openings between the indoor and outdoor living. A low-profile day bed and bay window cantilever to the north.

It is a quintessentially kiwi experience to return from tramping or adventure, hang up those muddy boots and reminisce about that day’s escapades around the warmth of the impressive monolithic insitu concrete outdoor fire.
